Siempre Nuevo – Always New.

Matěj Freml and Patrick Vacík have been following this motto since 2007. That is documented not only by their varied and miscellaneous „solo“ performances, but also by the unique projects they accomplish with the extraordinary musicians such as Guitarra Cantante with mezzosopranist Eva Garajová, European Melodies with the distinguished sopranist Markéta Fassati or the project 4+2 with a multi-genre Epoque Quartet. The concerts together with these outstanding musicians on many music festivals and stages in Europe, Asia and Africa have been the result of their ongoing effort and innovation.

Dancing on the strings

Our most recent programme is in the spirit of dance songs and rhythms. From the Spanish Fandango by Luigi Boccherini to the Spanish dances by Enrique Granados to the contemporary composers Mathias Duplessy and his Danse des sentiments or Lukáš Sommer, who composed a piece for the duo Siempre Nuevo called Dance on the Strings, there is something for everyone. Both guitars resonate in all the colourful and dynamic palettes they contain.

PERÚ, MI AMOR

Bella Adamová & Siempre Nuevo

This unique project of the Czech guitar duo Siempre Nuevo (Matěj Freml & Patrick Vacík – www.siempre-nuevo. com) combines the beauty of two seemingly completely different countries and cultures: on the one hand, there are authentic arrangements of songs by Chabuca Granda, the most famous Peruvian “chansonnier” of all time, whose work has undoubtedly contributed to the unprecedented spread of Peruvian musical culture throughout the world, while on the other hand, the listener will hear the compositions of well-known Czech greats Antonín Dvořák and Leoš Janáček performed in original arrangements for two guitars and vocals. All of this is linked by the final song Perú, mi amor by the Czech composer, traveller, photographer and adventurer Eduard Ingriš, who used this song to express his love for his second home, which just happened to be the beautiful and diverse Peru.

As part of the Perú, mi amor project, the audience will be introduced to the successful mezzo-soprano Bella Adamová (www.adamovabella.com), a rising star not only of the Czech singing scene, alongside the aforementioned guitar duo Siempre Nuevo. Her almost unlimited range of colours and refined work with dynamics perfectly harmonise with the delicate and crystalline sound of the guitars. Together they create perhaps the most beautiful musical combination in the world – the human voice accompanied by classical guitar.

European Melodies

Markéta Fassati & Siempre Nuevo

This project is based on song cycles and single freestanding songs by some of the greatest composers of the 19th and 20th century – Dvořák, Grieg, Rachmaninov or de Falla. The uniqueness of this program lies in the eigen original transcriptions and arrangements of duo Siempre Nuevo which closely copy the piano originals and add them by colours and techniques so characteristic for the classical guitar. Herewith these compositions receive a brand new and for the listener unknown dimension. www.marketafassati.com

4+2

Epoque Quartet & Duo Siempre Nuevo

The combination of string quartet and guitar duo creates incredible sound colours. The programme is varied and original – most of the pieces were composed by Czech composers specifically for the combination of these two ensembles, namely Tomáš Ill, Martin Brunner, Petr Wajsar and Štěpán Rak. It offers a musical collage composed of several genres, such as South American tango and jazz in addition to classical music. www.epoquequartet.com

Guitarra Cantante

Eva Garajová & Siempre Nuevo

This unique project unites the singing voice – in our case the warm and full mezzo-soprano of Eva Garajová – with the sound of two guitars. The repertoire is built of music by Czech composers and Spanish composers, all the original piano accompaniments were arranged for two guitars by Siempre Nuevo.  Who would have thought that the music by Leoš Janáček or Antonín Dvořák could be accompanied that adequately as on the piano, not speaking about works of Joaquín Rodrigo and Manuel de Falla, whose music naturally fits to the classical guitars perfectly!
